A Large Ceremonial Sago Stirrer, Huon Gulf Area, Early 20th Century,
finely carved from a single piece of hardwood, both sides with a stylized snake totem & an ancestor's head in high relief

Collected by the geologist Peter Austin, who was working in the Sepik area in 1965-66
