A 1952 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery (Type 78A) Chassis number B2LB114068
Engine number VN1838CAL

The 1952 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery was as the name implies a delivery van based upon the Ford Station Wagon. It is a most unusual American vehicle because vans of this type were not commonly manufactured in the USA. Access to the load area is via a hinged side-door and engine options were either a 6-Cylinder or 3.9 litre (239 cu inch) side valve V8, optional automatic transmission and eleven inch front and rear drum brakes. In 1952 Ford produced just 6,250 units many of which were purchased by the US Postal Service utilising the 2,888 litre capacity space.

The absolutely immaculate example offered here of the 1952 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery vehicle comes with its original docket confirming optional bench seat, two-speed automatic gearbox, V8 engine, Factory fitted heater and clock. It is thought that the vehicle was first used by a dry-cleaning company. In current ownership for the last 13 years, this Ford Courier which had lived in the Arizona desert for 14 years has undergone a complete, well researched and technically correct, in all facets, restoration to concours standard, and seamlessly converted from left to right hand drive.

This incredible vehicle is finished in Ford Grecian Gold and Cream, with just an extra touch of metallic added to the original Ford Factory colour scheme. The whole vehicle has been painstakingly and authentically rebuilt, with original parts including all instruments and valve radio reconditioned or the use of new-old stock such as in the tan vinyl interior. This impressive van still runs its original side valve Stratostar V8 and its factory option dual exhaust. The total project was completed in 2007 since when this spectacular and rare vehicle has won a plethora of important awards and concours events, and only travelled 1,500 miles since.
